Narrow, Widen, Advise?

Here is the rub. I would like to spend most all of my time writing about philosophy and feminist theory, but given that I was recently resigned from my job (you heard me right, I didn’t resign but they resigned me on my behalf, these corp overseers and handlers are so out of control!) I must now spend more time finding new paying clients for my independent practice. I am going to need to scale back my writing here to 1-2 posts a week. This is my future, and I am investing in this community because I believe in us, but my immediate present is making its demands felt now.

That said, I am still very much experimenting with my content here. On the one hand, I want to geek out on niche philosophy topics, like the history of concepts of space, and maybe show some of you why I love theory so much. This is option one in the poll below.

On the other hand, I want to be able to build community with a broad range of other readers like me, and that means maybe not being so narrowly focused. This would mean writing peaces with wider appeal, framing contemporary issues, from AI to individualism, using philosophical lenses. This is option two below.

On the other other hand, I have been coming back to exploring philosophical coaching (an idea I first entertained over ten years ago) There is so much more written on it now that if I were to “work in public” as I work through those materials that could have a lot of appeal. Plus, writing a weekly “Dear Philosopher” advice column could be so much fun. Option three below.

So it is that I have more limited time right now than I imagines, and the time to explore fewer things here, and I’d like to pursue one of these avenues first. Then again, maybe it’s too early to make a decision, and I should just keep experimenting.

What are some of y’allses thoughts? I could really use your feedback…
