Last updated: January 8, 2026
Our Commitment
Philosophy Publics is committed to protecting your privacy. We believe in a web that respects user privacy and operates without surveillance or exploitation. This policy explains our minimal data practices.
What We Don't Collect
We do NOT:
- Use cookies (except essential session cookies for admin authentication)
- Track your browsing behavior
- Collect personal information from site visitors
- Share or sell any data to third parties
- Use advertising networks or trackers
- Use Google Analytics or similar invasive analytics
- Fingerprint your device
- Store IP addresses
What We Do Collect
Analytics (Privacy-Respecting)
We may use privacy-respecting analytics services like Plausible or Fathom Analytics. These services:
- Do not use cookies
- Do not collect personal data
- Provide only aggregate statistics (page views, referrers, general location by country)
- Are GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant
- Do not track individuals across sites or sessions
Email Subscriptions
If you subscribe to our newsletter via the email form, we collect only your email address. This is processed through Formspree, which has its own privacy policy. Your email is used solely to send you updates and is never shared with third parties.
Admin Authentication
Site administrators authenticate via GitHub OAuth. This creates a temporary session cookie that expires when you log out. No user data from GitHub is stored on our servers beyond what's necessary for authentication.
External Links
This site links to external platforms (Substack, Medium, Bluesky, YouTube, Ko-fi). These platforms have their own privacy policies and data practices. We are not responsible for their data collection.
Your Rights
Since we collect virtually no personal data, there is nothing to:
- Request access to
- Request deletion of
- Request correction of
- Opt out of (there's no tracking to opt out of)
If you have subscribed to our newsletter and wish to unsubscribe, you can do so via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
Data Security
All connections to this site use HTTPS encryption. We take reasonable measures to protect the minimal data we do process (email subscriptions, admin sessions).
Children's Privacy
This site does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please contact us via email or social media (see the About page for contact information).
Summary
We don't collect or retain any personal data at all. Ever. Period.
Inspired by Pluralistic's approach: no trackers, no ads, no surveillance capitalism.
